How to Choose the Right Envelope Size According to the International Standard

Envelopes are a great packaging option and are used for several purposes – from post to wedding invitations, you’ll find envelopes everywhere. There are several people who get custom printed envelopes – for their office use or to send out invitations. The question is, how to choose the right size for the envelope. Let us help you pick the right size.

The international standard for envelopes is ISO 269. However, the right size would depend on its application. There are different sizes of envelopes for different applications.

Envelopes are made to fit the A paper size. The C series of envelope sizes will depend on the A series of paper sizes. For example, the C6 will be made to fit the A6 paper (114mmx162mm), and C5 will fit A5 (162mmx229mm).

You’ll also find DL envelopes of size 110mmx220mm, which is one third of an A4, and is generally used for letters. You can fold the letter in three parts and put it in the envelope.

We can make custom printed envelopes for you in various sizes. Please note that when the envelope is printed, there is a white border on all sizes, regardless of the size of the envelope. If you want a completely printed envelope, the printing will be done before the envelope is made
